PURPOSE/AIMS OF OUTDOOR LEARNING

1. To provide experiences that encourage an appreciation, awareness and knowledge of the natural environment.

2. To develop the ability to assess risks.

3. To develop self-esteem and self-confidence.

4. To be able to solve problems and challenges.

5. To extend and embed the knowledge of Curriculum subjects through memorable, exciting and active experiences.

6. To be able to work together and help each other, as well as working independently.

7. To develop practical skills.

8. To be able to light and use fire appropriately and safely.

9. To be able to use a variety of tools purposefully and safely.
